Today a news report in EU Observer claimed that the College of Europe, which is principally funded by the European Commission, has been paid by the Saudi Government to set up private meetings between Saudi ambassadors, EU officials, and MEPs next week, on the 19th of February, "to discuss current issues in the relations between the EU and the Saudi government."
- Does the Commission find this an acceptable practice by the College of Europe*
- Should the College of Europe College register to the EU joint-transparency register in order to continue facilitating such meetings?
- Will the commission reassess its funding of the College of Europe given the fact that it appears to have a wide variety of other revenue streams?
