Business and Human Rights
UK Law Society
UK Law Societies' Joint Office, 85 Avenue de Nerviens, Brussels
Business and human rights are often thought of as strange bedfellows, and their interactions raise questions that are on the cutting edge of ethics, law and politics. What is the relation between the two? What do businesses and their clients need to know about human rights? How can NGOs and political institutions work with businesses to ensure that human rights are respected?
The joint office of the UK Law Societies’ in Brussels is therefore proud to be hosting an event on Business and Human Rights, as part of the Law Society of England and Wales’ Human Rights in Collaboration programme.
- Peter Frankental – Economic Relations Programme Director at Amnesty International UK and Chair of the Corporate Responsibility (CORE) Coalition UK.
- Marietje Schaake MEP – Vice Chair of the EU Parliament delegation for relations with the US, and involved in the International Trade, Foreign Affairs and Human Rights committees.

- Richard Howitt MEP - European Parliament spokesperson on Corporate Social Responsibility and member of the sub-Committee on Human Rights
