European eSkills for jobs Conference

Marietje
On March 16, 2016 Marietje Schaake will be one of the keynote speakers during the Conference on eSkills for jobs. During this event, the most important themes around European eSkills for jobs are central. It concerns a campaign that has been launched as initiative from the European Commission, aimed at bringing the shortage among European citizens with professional digital skills (e-skills) under attention, and reducing it. The European Commission is leading a large coalition for digital jobs to solve the shortage of digital skills among citizens and the number of open vacancies in the field of information- and communication technology (ICT) in all sectors. The communication campaign 'eSkills for jobs' runs during 2015 and 2016 and offers a pan-European platform which brings together all relevant public and private organizations. In this context, many activities are setup in cooperation with different authorities (ministries and agencies), business, and other relevant stakeholders. In the campaign in particular is drawn attention for digital education and digital jobs in Europe. Central theme: Key Enabling Technologies and eSkills. The campaign aims at students in secondary and tertiary education, unemplyed who are looking for digital education and jobs in every sector, entrepeneurs and policymakers.
