Global Civic Debate on “Governing the Rise of Artificial Intelligence”

26 Sep 2018
18:00-20:00
JAN 4 q1 European Parliament

Citizens, academics, government and business leaders should be empowered to decide and shape the course of Artificial Intelligence development.

Join us on September 26, 2018 at the European Parliament in Brussels, to discuss the impact and governance of AI. During this event, we will also release the report of our Global Civic Debate on ‘Governing the rise of AI’ (www.aicivicdebate.org).

By assembling a diverse community of over 2,000 participants (experts, practitioners, policy-makers and citizens) from around the world, with over 3,300 contributions in five languages, we garnered novel perspectives on the governance of AI. We also collectively forged new insights on how the AI revolution is playing out, its consequences and how they need to be governed to capture the upsides, minimize the downsides and ensure that its benefits reach everyone.

We are proud to share the insights from our Global Civic Debate at the European Parliament. Expect a unique opportunity to take a seat at the table for shaping the global policy agenda on AI!

This event is organized in partnership with the Member of the European Parliament, Marietje Schaake. It is free and open to the public.
