Media: France 24 debate on EU-Turkey relations

On January 29th, Marietje Schaake spoke on France 24's Talking Europe with Turkey's Ambassador to the EU, Selim Yenel, about recent developments in EU-Turkey relations. Schaake and Yenel discussed the recent political showdown in Turkey following an anti-corruption probe involving prominent executives and people close to the government and its implications for Turkey's possible accession to the EU, as well as press and media freedom and the rule of law in the country. "The crisis that we see now and the state of Turkey will probably get worse before it can get better. And I'm very concerned, precisely because I believe that we have to continue to talk, even while we're facing criticism from our populations for doing so." Watch the entire show here.
