On 15 September, Marietje Schaake sent a letter to Vice-President Mogherini on the case of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe in Iran. The letter was cosigned by 56 other Members of the European Parliament.

Dear Vice-President/ High Representative Mogherini,
We are writing to express our concern about British-Iranian citizen Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, who was sentenced to five years in prison by the revolutionary court in Iran on September 6th. The accusations against her remain unknown.
Ms Zaghari-Ratcliffe is an employee of the Thomson Reuters Foundation and a mother of a 2-year-old daughter.
Several dual nationals have been arrested in the Islamic Republic in recent months. The human rights record, including high numbers of executions, remain a serious concern.
We urge you to use your relations with the authorities in Iran to do what you can to see the release of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe.
