The Dutch Case for Netneutrality

March 4th, from 13:00 – 15:00 The Permanent Representation of The Netherlands, Avenue de Cortenbergh 4-10, Brussels. The debate on the Telecoms Single Market package reaches an end in the Council, but much more needs to be done for an agreed and ambitious package, which should help develop the Digital Single Market. This is the opportunity to learn the ins and outs from the first European country that enshrined netneutrality in law. The European Parliament clearly called for strong definitions of netneutrality as part of the Telecoms Single Market. Many questions, such as on whether specialized services can be developed with netneutrality laws, or what the implications are for consumers, start-ups and innovation will be addressed. We are pleased to hear from the following speakers: - Johan Keetelaar (ACM, The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets) - Jos Huigen (Royal KPN) - Guillermo Beltrà (BEUC) - Wienke Giezeman (Startups for Net Neutrality) The Dutch permanent representation to the EU has kindly agreed to host us, which helps avoid security restrictions. A light lunch will be served. Please register through marietje.schaake-office@europarl.europa.eu by sending your full name and date of birth. An ID may be asked upon entering the Permanent Representation of The Netherlands, which is at Avenue de Cortenbergh 4-10, Brussels. IMG_20150304_134453
