Video: Euro-Mediterranean Relations and the Arab Spring: Two Years On

On June 5th, Marietje Schaake spoke during a seminar with invited journalists from the Middle East and North Africa organized in the European Parliament entitled “Euro-Mediterranean relations and the Arab Spring: two years on” about the situation of the media in the countries of the Arab Spring. Schaake is the European Parliament's rapporteur for Press and Media Freedom in the World and for the EU's first ever Digital Freedom Strategy. She discussed the role of the EU in the aftermath of the Arab Spring with regard to human rights and the rule of law, as well as the freedom of the press and digital freedoms in these countries.
